If you are suffering from a root canal infection, you may be experiencing generalised tooth pain, pain when eating or chewing, a loose tooth or swelling of the gum or face.

If this is the case, you may require root canal treatment. Root canal infections can occur when the outer layer (or enamel) of a tooth is damaged or cracked. Bacteria can enter the tooth and results in infection. In severe cases, root canal infections can also cause the loss of a tooth. It is a common procedure, which our team at Cygnet House Dental Studio can perform professionally and carefully.

Root canal treatment involves removing infected pulp (soft tissue) from inside the affected tooth to restore your mouth back to health and to resolve any pain issues.

During the treatment, Mitchell will sometimes have to remove the top layer of your tooth so he can get to the internal structure. He will then use tiny files and dental disinfectant to clear out the infection. Once this is done you may need a crown to seal the tooth and strengthen the enamel, but this is not always required.
