Dr Mitchell Clark

BDS Hons Sheff 1999, NVQ Dental Technology

Practice Principal/Lead Clinician

GDC No. 76113

I was born locally and have been the proud owner of the business from April 2001 when I opened my first practice, Merrie Meade dental studio in Skegness 2 years after qualifying as a dentist. I moved the business to Hundleby in 2006 to larger premises to allow for expansion and for provision of more services such as dental therapy, complementary therapy and for the lovely environment the current building offers.

I started training as a dental technician in 1987, after leaving Skegness Grammar school at the age of 16. I worked for Spalding Dental Services producing high quality crowns etc for dentists from Skegness to Peterborough. During my apprenticeship I studied one day a week at Nottingham Peoples College to gain my NVQ in Dental Technology, which I passed at distinction level.

This qualification allowed me to go onto University Dental School. During my time at Sheffield Dental School United Kingdom the prior experience as a technician stood me in good stead and I qualified with Honours in my dental degree. I was also awarded the British Dental Association Prize in Restorative Dentistry in my final year which I am very proud of!

I have worked as a clinical assistant at Bostons Pilgrim Hospital Oral and maxillofacial department and also for 3 years part time as a clinical assistant to Mr Coupland, the local consultant in Orthodontics, at Lincoln County Hospital. As a result I offer experienced levels of oral surgery and Orthodontics at the practice.

I am a confirmed “gadget man” and have continually added to the technology available at the practice with Ozone therapy, Air Abrasion therapy and a new CBCT Scanner. I have a very preventative, caring philosophy for the care I provide, whilst having a very keen eye for detail doing the cosmetic dentistry I particularly enjoy.

In 2012 I went to Uganda with the dental charity Dentaid to provide dental care for those that cannot help themselves and I proudly display lots of photographs of my time there, at the practice, there is also a blog on the website.

Outside of my time as a dental surgeon I really enjoy escaping into the countryside with my family either camping or sailing on the east coast.

“I am also very proud to have recently been asked to be the Chairman of Skegness Sea Scouts.”
